This, that, and the other thing too...

Hello everyone! Last week was an awesome week. I got to cuddle a newborn, shoot a boudoir session, photograph a birthday princess, shoot senior portraits with a gal who totally rocked the camera (click here to few some photos of it!), and photographed a happily married couple. Never a boring moment in this business, I love it. AND I thank each and every one of my clients for choosing me to capture all your memories!!!

So, here is what’s new with me. I JUST got a brand spankin’ new logo. Why? Well, I wanted something I could use on my business sign in my yard, all advertising gear, pens, t-shirts, photos, internet…I wanted something simple yet flashy and of course it had to fit me. Since I am absolutely obsessed with etsy.com, I decided to one night randomly type in custom logos and I found a girl who custom designs them! What luck huh?  She did an amazing job and I love my new logo. Check out Mandy’s work here: www.stylemesweetdesign.com.

I also found another creative person on etsy who is making me a matching camera lens bag and camera strap. So, now I will be stylin’, hehe. I am super excited to get my camera bag, and it will even have my new logo on it, YIPPIE!

And now, my 2 year old wants to “take pictures like mommy” so she can help at my sessions! I bought her a camera that withstands sticky hands and being bounced, thrown or stepped on. She loves it. One morning, she even took a photo of me sleeping! I had to teach her not to take any surprise photos, HA! It is amazing to see what a 2 year old captures and to see images from her eye level. Photography is truly an amazing thing, not only does it capture memories but it has so much expression behind it. I love my job, I love all the people I photograph, you make work fun. You all made my hobby flourish into a business that keeps me on my toes. Speaking of toes, here is one of my favorite photos my daughter has taken with her new camera...

One last thing: I want to do a question your photographer blog, where you ask me a question and I answer….for instance “will you have a studio outside your home one day” or “what kind of camera do you use” or “what is your favorite subject to photograph” or anything you ever wanted to know.  Send me the question to mdphotography@rocketmail.com OR just comment under this blog!  Take care everyone, and if you are in Indiana, stay cool with this heat we have!
