Spring Mini Sessions for Haiti | Children Photographer | North East Indiana

This has been on my heart for quite awhile now, I just didn't know where to go with it, but now I do. I will be holding Mini Sessions on the dates mentioned below and all proceeds will go to helping folks in Haiti.

Here is what the proceeds will go toward: funding Mission Trips to Haiti, towards building a room for a family who have one room right now for 12 people and currently do not have a roof that keeps the rain out, to an orphanage that is approved but still waiting on the funds, or the proceeds could go toward a Haitian school who is desperate for funds to add room and resources for their pre-k program, which they have 65 kids in one room and is crazy because here in America we think that when our Kindergarten class has close to 20 students in one room it is too much!!!! If you want to donate to this cause instead of holding a session, donations are welcomed, too. Please contact me to book a Spring Mini Session for Haiti or to donate to this cause.

Session Dates (first come first serve basis with a deposit of half due @ booking):

{There are MORE images below of Spring Mini Session backdrops, but please read the rest, first}:

I have a few friends who travel to Haiti frequently for mission trips. Their stories and their photos all tug at my heart strings. I would love to take a mission trip abroad, but right now at this time in my life with a nursing baby it doesn't seem possible. So, I told myself to focus on those who were in need here in America. Yet still, Haiti continued to pull at my heart.

Recently, a few friends and I began reading the book "Radical" and let me tell you, what a slap in the face that book is.  The book talks about the "American Dream" mentality  and how it has had quite the effect on Christianity. We turn to ourselves to achieve the endless possibilities the "American Dream" offers us. We begin to believe that our future is in our hands depending on how successful we make ourselves. However, with quite opposition...God's word tells us through him all things are possible and not to lean on our own understanding but to lean on His. As a follower in Jesus I am suppose to turn to Him, not myself, for my success and desires. For Him I am suppose to be able to surrender all of me and my silly wants and praise Him for what happens in my precious life and not praise myself.  That my friends, is not easy.

So, what does this have to do with Haiti? To be honest, everything. I need to get off my butt and do something that matters. I hold sessions, obviously, to help support my family with extra income. "Extra" "Income".  I have so much extra. Even when I think I have so little and I need more of whatever I think I need more of, I really actually have extra. I have no idea what it is like to be without, I am so spoiled. I really have no way to explain how I feel and why I want to do this, God has just laid it on my heart and made it apparent to me that I need to do this.

My friend, Amanda, from Art & Soul Boutique has also decided to generously donate to this cause as well. So, coming soon in March, she will post on her fan page specifics about how she will be raising money for Haiti. I will share her post after she makes posts it!

Thanks for listening to me ramble....it all makes sense in my mind and heart. :-) Okay, so now I will share with you some other backdrops that will be available for the Spring Mini Sessions for Haiti! :)
