I photograph so many other people's children that often I don't photograph mine as frequently as I should. Recently, I promised myself that I need to and will begin photographing my kiddos more. My children are growing up so fast and their appearance seriously changes right before my eyes. They turn from a chubby little baby to a tall independent little person faster than I want them to. I want to capture all those little moments that I never want to forget.
To me, it is important that I photograph my children just as they are, in their element. I will save the nice outfits and what not for when I hire a photographer to photograph them...but as for when I photograph them, I will let them choose their own outfits even if it is mismatched and crazy. I love them just as they are, and I want to capture just that.
My oldest, Gracie Monroe, has quite the crazy personality. When she was younger she loved mismatched socks and even put a shirt on as a skirt (she pushed in the sleeves and used them as pockets). She has always been creative and I love that qaulity about her. She is sweet but so very sassy and has a dream of becoming a ballerina. When I asked my almost 5 year old what she wanted to wear for her session, of course she picked her ballerina outfit AND her Little Mermaid outfit.
It was perfect. I was able to let her free style it in front of the camera. She felt confident and silly..we had a good time together. :) Smiles, goofy faces, kissy lips, crazy eyes....all of it is my beautiful Gracie Monroe.
