Mosquitoes and rain and mud...oh my.
To be fair, the weather forecast did say no rain. However, around 6:45pm (45 minutes before the ceremony started) storm clouds rolled through and no sun shined through the clouds. Mosquitoes were every where just waiting for us to walk outside. I think it is safe to say we all had OFF as our perfume for the evening. Thunder rolled and the sky put on a lightening show. Not good news for an outdoor wedding and reception.
The wind blew rain in every direction and created so much sitting water on the ground. I am not going to lie, the weather had me nervous. It was so dark outside I was afraid there would be no light left for the couple's images together after the ceremony. I was so nervous the rain was never going to stop!
The ceremony was postponed about an hour, but the weather did not damper Rico & Malorie's focus. Although Rico and Malorie had to wait for the rain to stop, which I am sure seemed like an eternity, both of them just wanted to tie the knot even if it wasn't outside like planned. Their focus remained on each other, which was incredible to witness.
Rico and Malorie told me that since they began talking years ago, they have only spent one day without one another. These two adorable love birds may have had rain postpone their day but they also had a beautiful double rainbow announce their ceremony moments before Malorie walked down the aisle to Rico. It was such a magical moment.
Mr. & Mrs. Martinez, thank you for including me in your special day! I enjoyed getting to know both of you and seeing you both so happy and in love. Enjoy Las Vegas!!! :-)
Wedding ceremony and reception: Koinonia Environmental Pierceton, Indiana (this was a gorgeous place!!!)
And then, the rain began to pour.
